Simi Motion Real Time Tracking

Simi now offers a tracking module which automatically tracks highly visible reflective markers on recorded video in real time. Markers are automatically detected and tracked by the software thus requiring the user to only identify the already tracked markers. The new real time tracking saves time and relegates the old manual marker tracking to the past.

With the new real time tracking, movements can be tracked and analyzed even faster. Since the Simi system is still video based you have the added advantage to edit data post tracking.

Motion capturing for everyone! (07/2006)

Introductory offer for universities and colleges: we are selling our motion capture software Simi MotionCapture3D to academic institutions at a special introductory price up until 31.10.2006.

Motion capturing appeals more and more to the producers of animated sequences for games, films and television. This is because this process is much faster and provides natural looking movements which are almost impossible to produce using conventional hand-drawn character animation.

Unfortunately, because of the high costs involved, motion capturing has been used very rarely or only at the top end of the market and few people have had the opportunity to use the software.

In line with our motto “Motion capturing for everyone” we are selling our software solution MotionCapture3D at a special introductory price until 31.10.2006. Make sure to get your licences now and let your students of today learn the techniques of tomorrow.

"...You could do a shoot and produce data in an hour." (02/2006)

The magazine "3D World - The magazine for 3D artists" put the Simi MotionCapture3D software to the test.

To find the answer to the question: "What is the quality of the data which can be produced using Simi MotionCapture3D?" the authors described how to operate Simi MotionCapture3D and the benefits and drawbacks of working with the software were highlighted.

The magazine came to the conclusion that it was possible to gain very good 3D data for realistic animations with Simi MotionCapture3D. The amount of time saved in comparison to other animation processes was confirmed and the low purchase costs were commented upon positively.
