Simi Motion Acquisition and analysis of EMG signals

The latest version of Simi’s EMG module is part of Simi DataForce which is sold separately or together with Simi Motion. Data acquisition and signal processing are completely integrated into the Simi Motion user interface.

You may display video, stick figures and diagrams with angles, accelerations, forces, moments and EMG data synchronized on one screen.

Trial setups - names of muscles and parameters of all filtered data (lowpass, median/mean frequency, root mean square, signal power etc.) - can be saved to templates. These templates can be reused at any time to allow quick data analysis.

Advanced features like FFT, wavelets and frequency analysis visualisations are also available.

Data acquisition supports A/D converter cards from DataTranslation and National-Instruments and can be done synchronized to digital video capture with an accuracy of approx. 1ms.

Simi is not an EMG hardware manufacturer. A/D conversion of amplified raw signals should work with any sensors on the market.

EMG hardware is for example available from Biovision.

Alternatively, raw data can be imported from existing third party EMG systems. The module features rich import functions and import from native Noraxon files.
