Nowadays new, multimedia-based technologies can be used in sports education, in clubs and in physical education at school with low priced and easy to handle computer and camera systems. SIMI Vidback merely needs a notebook with Firewire-gateway (IEEE-1394) and a standard DV-camera.
Feedback via fluently delayed playback
Analyses in sports science showed that a feedback within a couple of seconds after the motion is most effective. SIMI VidBack delays the replay of the camera’s signal for the time (needed by the athlete) that the athlete needs to get to the monitor. While he is still watching the recordings, the next athlete can complete his exercise and view it afterwards.
Retroactive saving of video sequences For post-editing of the training sessions you often need selected parts from the lesson. The complete recording demands a high savings capacity (about 210MB per minute) and forces the editor to search and cut out the relevant scenes. SIMI VidBack can save a video sequence with one keystroke – after it has actually happened! After the exercise the editor decides weather the video sequence should be saved and he can sort the different video recordings. The saving can optionally be done with a remote control. No rewind, no effort Due to the fluent delay the time consuming rewinding will be omitted. In common video systems the recording needs to be stopped for playback, which interrupts the exercise chain. SIMI Vidback works automatically after starting it and does not need any interaction by the user.
